Lead Producer for live interactive football drill with the world’s best footballer, Cristiano Ronaldo, to promote the Nike Mercurial Superfly Heritage iD.

Process

Working with Sky Sports in a first of its kind paid partnership with Nike, we created a live interactive football drill with Cristiano Ronaldo, hosted by Laura Woods.

To be successful on this project, we had to:

  1. Pre-plan every element of production thoroughly with Sky teams, Nike and team Ronaldo
  2. Create a strategy that effortlessly weaved Nike product into the video content
  3. Ensure we had the right talent on-screen to get the very best from Cristiano Ronaldo and also be relatable to our audiences
  4. Engage with fans throughout the live production, as they selected the football drill that Cristiano would oversee

Shoot

  • We took a 10-person team to Lisbon to deliver this one-off piece of branded content
  • Had Cristiano Ronaldo highly engaged in the content (even having a go at the football drill himself!)
  • Got exclusive editorial lines from Cristiano Ronaldo during our feature

Results

The team delivered a fantastic original product that gained 489k views on YouTube, and many more across the Sky Sports estate.

Nike & Sky Sports were both delighted with the partnership and this lead to another football campaign, featuring some of the world's best footballers, as well as a paid golf partnership starring Rory McIlroy.
